About Us

Founded in 1989 in response to Proposition 2½ budget cuts, the Duxbury Education Foundation (DEF) is a private, not-for-profit organization dedicated to enhancing educational opportunities in the Duxbury Public Schools.

DEF receives, administers, and disburses funds to support innovative programs and initiatives that benefit students, teachers, and staff across the district. Managed by a volunteer board of trustees, DEF meets regularly to organize fundraising efforts and review grant applications.

Grants may be submitted by any Duxbury Public Schools teacher, administrator, student, or community member seeking to positively impact the educational experience of Duxbury students. Grant funding is made possible through generous donations and community support.

Major fundraisers include the Answer the Call Annual Appeal, Polar Plunge, Divots for DEF Golf Tournament and the July 4th Road Race. All donations are tax-deductible in accordance with applicable laws.
